Panellist on IESR Discussion with The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia
I represented Alva Energi to speak on the challenges and opportunities of increasing electricity access to remote areas in Indonesia from the private sector’s perspective. The discussion was organised by IESR and Enter Nusantara, involving representatives from the government, private sector, and civil society organisation (CSO).

Article & News
My PhD thesis was awarded the Springer Thesis Award and was turned into a book for “its excellence and the high impact of its contents.” The thesis analysed the techno-economic competitiveness of photovoltaic (PV) systems in providing reactive power support and proposed practical algorithms to optimise the PV power dispatch.
A research led by my colleague (which I am a part of), Carlos D. Rodríguez-Gallegos, was featured in Sciencedaily, alongside more than 100 news sites, including Forbes, NewScientist, and PV Magazine. The work, published in Joule, has shown that bifacial solar panels with single-axis trackers can generate electricity at the lowest cost in most parts of the world.
Indonesian Embassy in Singapore
The Indonesian Embassy publication featured my first solar energy community project in Geranting island. The project was supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore as well as many individuals through crowdfunding. This project prompted the founding of Alva Energi.
Hertford College, University of Oxford
While I was in Oxford, I started a social enterprise society called Enactus Oxford. One of the projects was called Streetview Oxford: alternative tours of the touristic Oxford guided by homeless people.
The Oxford Mail articles are about Streetview Oxford, a project I started with friends at Enactus Oxford. Anthony Ralph, our tour guide, was featured in both articles as he conducted the tour for local councillors and international tourists.
